On behalf of Cavotec we are looking for multiple Field Service Technicians/ Engineers to join a growing team.

Imagine one day you may be on a visit to a Norwegian fjord to investigate an intermittent problem with a 2-metre tall robot that uses vacuum technology to moor a ship, discussing with ships' crews to understand the problems they have, then investigating on site and working with experts around the world to resolve the problem.
Then your next job may be to implement an improvement to a ship-charging machine, which could be based in the centre of a city making a customer nervous to ensure the machine runs performs well and all the time. Timing, quality, customer involvement - the situation creates pressure, and when you get the job done you get a level of satisfaction rarely matched.
These are some of our regular challenges, we give to people who have experience and are obsessed with the following:
- Mechanics - you could be involved in jobs from simple servicing to growing to know when a machine just doesn't sound right, from overhauls to damage assessments
- Hydraulics - from reading hydraulic schematics to help understand why a problem is occurring to implementing an upgrade to a system
- Electrics - from 24v control systems to high-voltage systems delivering charge to a battery-powered ship
- Automation and control systems - from reading data logs to understand problems, to reconfiguring the brains of a machine
- Computers - from Windows to Wifi
- Networking and Communications - from IP addresses to industrial radios
Requirements:
- Associates Degree / Technical Training at Technical Institute
- Hands-on (troubleshooting & repairs)
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical specifications & design principles
- Technical skills in Industrial Mechanic or Controls Automation
- Norwegian mother tongue and fluent English
Expected experience:
- Proven maintenance hands-on experience on electro-mechanical equipment
- Ability to communicate and write technical reports
- Experience in working in a fast-paced environment
- Nice to have : previous experience in the maritime industry
- Location: based in Bergen area, with extensive travel
