For our well-established customer we are looking for a Backend Developer.?

The SOC Tools section develops and improves systems that support the SOC (Security Operation Center). We are now looking for a developer who can help us modernize the technology stack of one of the key systems used for interacting with our customers.

Assignment description

In our current codebase, we have utilized several custom-made frameworks and libraries. To reduce the overhead with maintaining custom libraries and ease the onboarding process for new developers, we are aiming to replace these with well-known libraries.

Today the system has server side rendering of html using a template engine, and has a custom frontend framework for dynamic behavior. We would like to replace this with client-side rendering, and eventually converting the application to a SPA. Specifically, we are interested in implementing React for our frontend.

Another area we want to improve is to make our data accessible for other systems of the SOC, as well as to decouple our application from the database by implementing a REST API.

Activities to be performed

• Add support for React components in our current front-end framework. The solution should be designed in a way that lets us remove the custom front-end solution when all "legacy" pages has been converted into react components.
  
• Add logic to the server app to differentiate between whether or not a page should be rendered client-side or server-side.
  
• Decide on test tooling and create a test environment for React components.
  
• Implement a secure, RESTful API for access to our data. Consider and decide on tooling and the use of specifications such as Open API.

Experience/knowledge with any of the following fields/topics listed below:

• TypeScript
• Node.js
• REST API
• Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
